Valley Vipers collected their second straight road win Sunday afternoon as they look to climb the standings in the new Eastern Canadian Basketball League.

The Vipers downed the Saint John Union 113-109 at TD Station to improve their record to 4-7. The Union, meanwhile, dropped to 8-7.

Truro Tide are perched comfortably in first place in the new Eastern Canadian Basketball League, which includes an unblemished home record.  

The Tide defeated the Bathurst Bears 119-102 Sunday afternoon at Cobequid Education Centre to improve their record to 12-1, which includes six home-court wins.

Moncton Motion never let their foot off the gas on Sunday afternoon.

The Motion set a record for points in the new Eastern Canadian Basketball League when they beat the hometown Charlottetown Power 135-106 at the Eastlink Centre.

The Vipers edged the hometown Bathurst Bears 101-96 Saturday night at the K.C. Irving Centre. The narrow win gives the Vipers a 3-7 and the Bears dropped to 2-9.

Saint John Union’s high-powered offense took control in the opening minute and the defense had to hold on for a dramatic home-court win.

The Bears let a 13-point lead slip away in the fourth quarter before they settled down defensively and defeated the Valley Vipers 90-80 Saturday night at the Stu Aberdeen Centre on the campus Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. The hard-fought win gives the Bears a 2-8 record and the Vipers dropped to 2-6.

The Power upset the previously-unbeaten Truro Tide 99-97 in a spirited matchup before 340 spectators Saturday afternoon at the Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown.

The Power outscored the visiting Bathurst Bears 26-13 in the fourth quarter and earned a 100-91 win before 552 spectators Friday night at the Eastlink Centre.

The Acadia Axemen product connected on a trio of three-pointers in the fourth quarter to lead the Valley to a 105-101 victory before 254 spectators at the Stu Aberdeen Centre on the Acadia campus in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. The win gives the Vipers a 2-5 record and the Motion dropped to 4-4.
