Oceans 11 – Tide Keep Winning

The Truro Tide continue to roll away from the five other teams in the new Eastern Canadian Basketball League.

The Tide defeated the Charlottetown Power 112-105 Saturday afternoon at the Eastlink Centre to improve their record to 11-1 as the regular season passed the halfway point.

The loss dropped the Power’s record to 7-6.

Qyemah Gibson poured in 31 points for the Tide, who led 60-55 at halftime. Dequan Cascart added 29 points and Armon Benford had 14. Zach Hinton countered with 25 points for the Power. Adam Stanford netted 21 points while KV Myricks and Jordan Holness each had 19.

League play continues on Sunday, when the Power host the Moncton Motion (4-5). Game time is 2 p.m. at the Eastlink Centre.

The Tide entertain the Bathurst Bears (2-8) at 2 p.m. at Cobequid Education Centre. At the same time, the Valley Vipers (2-6) visit the Saint John Union (6-5) at TD Station.
