Sponsorships Benefit Everyone

Moncton businesswoman Ingrid MacPhee sees three clear winners when she buys a corporate sponsorship in support of the Eastern Canadian Basketball League.

The owner of Parlour Pawn, a family-owned shop entering its 42nd year of business, says the sponsorship provides effective advertising for her Mountain Road store, assists the new league with operating costs and promotes sports and active living in her hometown.

The Moncton Motion, Bathurst Bears, Saint John Union, Charlottetown Power, Summerside Slam, Truro Tide and Valley Vipers will launch the league’s inaugural season in mid to late March. The schedule is currently being written and it will be released sometime in January.

The league is currently selling corporate sponsorships and executive officer Ravi Verma is encouraged with the feedback he’s receiving from Maritime businesses.

“We want to make the sponsorship packages affordable for all businesses,” he says. “Local companies who want to support their communities are important for the success of the league. “We want to work with the communities and bring a positive experience to the Maritimes.”

All sponsorships are payments in exchange for season tickets and various levels of in-arena and digital advertising.

“We like the exposure we are going to get,” MacPhee says. “It allows us to spin off our business to people who have yet to visit us.”

“We get to show our store and our fantastic staff to a wider audience.”

Parlour Pawn offers pawn loans as well the purchase, trade and sale of new and used musical instruments, jewelry, electronics, computers, DVDs, tools and other items.Parlour Pawn has been a long-time sponsor of Moncton-area non-profit charities.

“I’m hoping,” MacPhee says, “all sports will allow our communities to grow, attract newcomers and be role models for the future generations."
