Tide Riding a Wave

The Truro Tide never let up on the hometown Saint John Union. The Tide rolled to a 60-42 lead at halftime and never let up in a 107-90 victory over the Union in a new Eastern Canadian Basketball League game played before 1,110 spectators at TD Station Thursday night.

The win gives the Tide a 2-0 record and the Union slipped to 2-1.

Dequon Cascart led the Tide with 23 points while Qyemah Gibson threw in 20 and Tyrone Watson had 17.

Chevon Brown and Mikey Rodriquez each netted 21 points for the Union and Kyle Arsenault had 18.

The Tide host the Bathurst Bears (0-3) on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Cobequid Education Centre. The Moncton Motion (1-0) and Charlottetown Power (0-0)  clash on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Eastlink Centre in the Prince Edward Island capital. The Power then visit the Union on Sunday afternoon at TD Station.
