Charlottetown Power shifted their offense into high gear, and the Bathurst Bears are still looking for their first win in the new Eastern Canadian Basketball League. The Power beat the Bears 123-96 Wednesday night before 900 spectators at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre in Bathurst. Charlottetown’s onslaught was the second-largest offensive display in the league this season.

The Power, who led 64-43 at halftime, improved their record to 3-4 and the Bears dropped to 0-6. The Power connected on 54 percent of their three-point attempts (13 for 24) and out-rebounded the Bears 54-38.

Adam Stanford led the Power with 31 points while Zack Hinton added 18 and KV Myricks had 15. Stanley Mayambo answered with 25 points for the Bears. Giovanai Jackson poured in 18 points and Brian Williams netted 12.

The Moncton Motion (2-2) host the Valley Vipers (1-3) on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Avenir Centre.

On Friday at 7 p.m., the Motion and first-place Tide (7-0) square off at Cobequid Education Centre in Truro and the Power visit the Saint John Union (4-2) at TD Station. The Bears host the Motion on Sunday at 4 p.m. at the K.C. Irving Centre.
