The league’s inaugural season tips off in about 75 days. Your Daily Slice, sponsored by Papa Johns, will be updated daily with league news leading up to opening night through to the championship game.
Verma expects Your Daily Slice to be popular with Eastern Canadian Basketball League fans, coaches, players, sponsors, administrators and even with NBA managers.
“A lot of NBA teams have talked to us and wished us well with the league because they see how we want basketball to grow,” Verma says.
“They also want to see our league do well because it could be a place for the development of players,” he adds. “A lot of the players in our league just need more games, more development, and they can become NBA prospects.”

“We’ve had a lot of good interaction with fans in the Maritimes and they are engaged with their teams and the league overall,” Verma says.
“Our league is all about being community-centric and working with Maritime organizations – we have to stay connected and in communication with our great supporters.”
