Frazier

Small forward Andre Frazier is coming to the Eastern Canadian Basketball League with new respect and appreciation for the game he cherishes. Frazier, who turns 29 years-old tomorrow, tore ligaments in his left knee three years ago, when he slipped on a damp spot on the gym floor while going up for a dunk.

“Everything changed when I got hurt,” the Los Angeles native explains. “I have always worked hard, but the injury forced me to have an even greater work ethic. “My mental approach also changed,” he says. “I appreciate everything in life more because things can change quickly. You can lose things that you took for granted.”

Frazier, who majored in psychology at Peru State University in Nebraska, says “every day is a blessing,” and “we should always be thankful.” The six-foot-six forward has played professionally in Denmark for a year and Finland for two.

“You wouldn’t think of it, but the crowds in Finland loved basketball,” Frazier says. “They are both beautiful countries with friendly people. I had a great time and loved the people over there.”

The father of an eight year-old son is looking forward to creating new memories in the Eastern Canadian Basketball League.

“I’m super-excited about reaching out to a new group of people. I love talking to new people, especially kids, so I can tell them to work hard and follow their dreams. I thank God for this opportunity.”
