Benford
Armon Benford knows what it takes to be a champion, and he’s eager to share that knowledge with his new teammates in the Eastern Canadian Basketball League. The six-foot-three guard, who won a Gulf South Conference title with the Delta State Statesman, of Cleveland, Mississippi, in 2019, has agreed to play in ECBL.
“When we won the championship in my senior year, it’s because we all worked together,” Benford says. “It was a collaborative effort,” he adds. “I know that it takes a team effort to win and you’re never going to win with just one or two players contributing. “My message is always about teamwork.”
Benford has played in Mexico and Jamaica since his collegiate career ended. He was also a member of the Lansing Lions of The Basketball League. The 26 year-old Chicago native is looking forward to being part of a new league.
“I’m down for it and I want to experience something new with the people of Canada,” he says. “It’s going to be a positive experience for everyone.”
