Tide Rolls to Historic Win
The Truro Tide recorded a victory on their home court in the first game ever in the new Eastern Canadian Basketball League.
The Tide scored 36 points in the third quarter and beat the Valley Vipers 124-94 Thursday night at the Cobequid Education Centre.
Veteran Tyrone Watson led the Tide with 30 points. Tyler Scott added 20 points and Qyemah Gibson chipped in with 14. Damon Garrett replied with 29 points for the Vipers, who trailed 63-53 at halftime.
The Vipers will hold their home-opener on Thursday, April 6, when they host the Charlottetown Power. The Tide visits the Saint John Union on the same night.
The Union and Bathurst Bears meet tomorrow, March 31 at TD Station in Saint John. Tip-off is 7pm.
